Omar E. Chavez age 42 was born on February 5, 1980 to Abel Chavez Jr. and Elena San Miguel Gonzales in Chicago, Illinois. He transitioned into eternal rest on August 22, 2022, in Houston, Texas.
Omar is survived by his Cherished grandmother: Maria Elena Chavez, his mother: Elena San Miguel, Gonzales, his siblings, Daughters: Mariana Chavez, Emilia Chavez, Step kids: Eric Lindo , Melinda Barajas, wife Melinda Chavez, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Omar was preceded in death by his father †Abel Chavez Jr. and grandfather †Abel Chavez Sr.
Omar was known to his family and friends as “Chatter”; he was a great person who lived and loved life to the fullest. Chatter wasn’t scared of anything and if he was, he never showed it. Anyone who ever met him knows that he would be there whenever you needed him to be. Everyone knows different versions of Omar but the common ground is: Love and Loyalty. No matter if he was in Chicago or Houston, he was home.
If you knew him, then you know. He was a force to be reckoned with and he will truly be missed.
Visitation: Monday August 29, 2022 at St. Procopius Church, 1202 West 18th Street (Corners of 18th Street and Allport Street) from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Celebration of Life Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Procopius Church, 1202 West 18th Street (Corners of 18th Street and Allport Street) Parking available at 16th and Racine Avenue. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery on 87th and Hamlin Avenue, Evergreen Park.
