Jose Antonio Sanchez, 75 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at DHR Hospital in Edinburg, Texas. Cherished father of: Arturo Colon, Esther Mercado, Elizabeth García, José Sánchez Jr. and Evette Flores. Fond and dedicated Grandfather of: Arturo James Colon, Raquel Pérez, Valente Sánchez, Tatiyanna Sánchez, Franchesca Mercado. Nicholas Hernández. Angelo Hernández, Arilyn García, Víctor Sánchez, Jayde Sánchez, Joselyn Sánchez, José Sánchez III, Carlos Flores Jr., Mario Flores, Edwin Flores. Great Grandfather of: Ethan Alejandro Garcia and Violet Sánchez, Elijah Anthony Warner. Fond brother of Ludovina Mora, Aurea Santiago, Jaime Sanchez and Ruben Sanchez. Toño was preceded in death by his beautiful wife †Rose Marie Sanchez, his dear parents Confessor and Juana Sanchez and 8 siblings.
Toño worked as a custodian at St. Procopius Church and at CHA. Once he retired from the work force; to everyone, he was A go to mechanic and fix-it guy. Toño loved his Dominoes; avid Chicago Cubs fan and lived to see the Cubs win the 2016 World Series and become Champions. Toño was a dedicated Grandpa, loved his grandchildren and children unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.
Visitation: Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Sourek Funeral Home, 5645 West 35th Street, Cicero, Illinois 60804 from 3:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service: Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Procopius Church, 1200 West 18th Street (Corner of 18th Street and Allport Street), Chicago on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 for the Celebration of Life Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road., Hillside, Illinois 60162.
