Dragic Blagojevic, aged 90, of Plainfield, IL, passed away on July 25, 2023. He was born on March 13, 1933, in Male Pcelice, Kragujevac, to his parents, Bozidar Blagojevic and Marina (Vasic) Blagojevic.
Dragic dedicated his life to his profession and made significant contributions in his field. He was known for his commitment, compassion, and expertise. His loss will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and colleagues.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Milica Blagojevic (nee Djurdjevic), with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Dragic is also survived by his two children, Dragan and his wife Daniela, and Danica and her husband Brad Arnold. Dragan and Daniela have two children, Srbijanka and Marina, while Danica has two children, Deyana and Tasha Kravec. His sister, Draga Nikolic, also mourns his passing.
Dragic was preceded in death by his parents, Bozidar and Marina Blagojevic, as well as his sister, Zagorka Rajic.
His legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his career. He will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his profession.
Dragic, a remarkable individual whose passion for music, particularly the Harmonika, ignited at an early age and set the course for his life’s journey. At the tender age of 23 in 1957, he embarked on a musical adventure, joining a folklore group as their talented musician, captivating audiences throughout Austria.
During his time in Austria, Dragic nurtured the dream of a new beginning in Canada, and in pursuit of that dream, he resided there for two transformative years. It was during this period that he would frequently travel to Chicago, enchanting crowds with his beloved Harmonika at various events and gatherings.
In 1962, Dragic’s aspirations materialized as he fulfilled his lifelong dream of living in America. This decision would prove to be a pivotal moment, impacting the lives of countless individuals in the years to come. In the same year, he joined his life with Milica in matrimony, forming a harmonious partnership both on and off the stage. Together, they became renowned musicians within the Serbian community, lending their talents to joyous occasions such as weddings, engagements, baptisms, and lively dances known as Igranke.
Dragic, affectionately known as “Friend” in Serbia, possessed a generous spirit that knew no bounds. Throughout his life, he selflessly aided numerous individuals, forever leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Through his decision to immigrate, he opened the doors for many generations, offering them the opportunity to create new chapters in this great country.
Today, as we bid farewell to Dragic Blagojevic, let us remember his unwavering love for music, his remarkable contributions to the Serbian community, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy will forever resonate, as his melodies continue to echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace and his memory be cherished by all who were touched by his presence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10-11 am at New Gracanica Serbian Monastery, 35240 W. Grant Avenue, Lake Villa, IL. With the Funeral Service beginning at 11 am Interment will follow at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Cemetery.

I’m so sorry to hear about this and surprised that I did not hear about it untill mow. He truly was a such a nice quiet man. His music together with his wife, was a pleasure to listen to. One of the musical greats here in the Chicago area.
