James “Jimmy” Matos age 67 passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020, peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at his residence in Chicago. Jimmy is survived by his cherished children: Nicolette Matos (fiancé Emilio) and Tony (Yahaira) Matos. Jimmy’s beautiful grandchildren: Amera, Chloe, Emilio, James, Jake, Yeniah, Yasminyenai and Julian Matos. Great grandchild Jean Carlos. Jimmy’s siblings: Cuco, Hildegard, Mary and Marilyn. Jimmy was a wonderful Uncle and leaves a large host of nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his parents: †Jose Matos †Clary Matos, his loving wife Dolores, his son †Jimmy Matos and his brother †Robert Matos.
Jimmy was known as “Pimp” to all his friends and people who knew him growing up in Pilsen. Pimp’s heart was in Pilsen where he had all his friends who he considered his family. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation and Burial: Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 West Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162 from 10:00 a.m. till the start of the Celebration of Life/Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
For those wishing to pay respects at the funeral home, Per CDC requirements only 10 people allowed in Visitation Room at all times. Please be respectful of the family’s wishes. No children under the age of 13 will be allowed for safety reasons.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic all attending visitation, church service and or burial must wear mouth covering at all times. Per guidelines of the Archdiocese of Chicago Churches and Cemeterie
