Mario Delgado, Army Veteran (Vietnam War) age 67 years old passed away peacefully at his longtime Pilsen residence, Monday, October 23, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.
Loving father of: Preciosa Delgado and the late †Hector “Bobbies” Serrano, cherished grandfather of: Dominic Marcello Perez, Destiny Serrano, Santiago Serrano and Josiah Serrano. Beloved brother of: Hector (the late April) Delgado, George (Diane) Delgado, John Delgado, Arturo Delgado, Rosemary Delgado, Oscar Delgado and Letty Delgado. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. A great friend to many. Mario was preceded in death by his loving parents: †Cirildo Delgado and †María Del Carmen Delgado, his dear brother †Santiago “Jimmy” Delgado.
Mario will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his work family at Edward Hines Jr Veterans Administration Hospital, which he worked for many years. Mario was a high school graduate of Class of 1968 from Carter H. Harrison High School.
Visitation: Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Providence of God Catholic Church, 717 West 18th Street (corner of 18th Street and Union). Funeral Service: Friday, October 27, 2017, 9:00 a.m. till start of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Providence of God Catholic Church, 717 West 18th Street (Corner of 18th Street and Union). Burial will be Private.

I worked at Hines in the canteen with Mario for the past 14 years..I was shocked and saddened when I came to work Monday and was told he passed away..Mario was a good guy, always buying someone breakfast always buying a friends coffee..I also remember he always bought himself a deli sandwich to take home for dinner lol..Rest in peace Mario..My prayers are with the entire Delgado family????????
