Mark Louis Katzel was born to the late Louis Katzel and the late Gloria (nee Johnson) on June 12, 1963. He was born in Oak Park, IL. Mark passed away suddenly on December 4, 2016 in his home in Schaumburg, IL. Mark loved his sister, Ruth (Mark) Napravnik, and adored his three nieces, Sarah (Brennan) Scott, Rachael (Clarence) Sutton and Elizabeth (Jameson) Hillier.
He loved these girls like his own, and they loved him and his sense of humor. Mark also adored his nine great-nephews and great-nieces. Mark loved his family and his family loved him. Mark also had a great love for animals; he has had many cats and dogs throughout his life. Most recently his beloved dog of fourteen years named Snickers, passed away before he could meet his new playmate, Marvin. Mark adopted Marvin and picked him up about a week after Snickers passed away. Marvin quickly became part of the family. Marvin is safe and happy living with Mark’s niece, Sarah and her family.
Mark worked as a Security Guard for many years where he made many friends both coworkers and people that worked in the building. Mark had a very strong faith in his Savior, one he was willing to share. He knew who he was and whose he was. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, Illinois or to the American Heart Association would be welcomed.
Visitation is Thursday, December 8, 3–9 pm and Friday, December 9, from 9 am until 10 am start of Funeral Service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 Kimberly Way, Lisle, IL.

I enjoyed cookouts with Mark & Snickers at the campground of his sister Ruth and brother in law Mark.
