Antonio “Tony” Santiago (Valerie), born on March 17, 1954 was a loving son to the late† Carlos and †Antonia Santiago; a loving and caring brother to †Juanita (†Jose), †Marcial (Grace), †Angelita (Enrique), †Carlos Jr. (Juanita), †Jorge (Luz), Rosalinda (Miguel), Raul (Maria), Margarita, Gloria, Lorenzo; Godfather and adoring uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to many.
Tony and his family were long time Pilsen Residents, they owned and operated Flor De Mexico Grocery Store from the 50’s till the early 90’s. Tony a lifetime parishioner of St. Procopius Church where he attended school and graduated from St. Procopius Grammar school, Tony also served as an altar server for many years. Tony attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School and was employed at Tyson’s Foods where he retired from. Tony played on various softball leagues, but his true passion was Baseball and the Chicago Cubs were his favorite team and he got to witness a World Series Championship in 2016.
Tony loved all his family and friends and kept them very close to his heart along with the Chicago Cubs. Most remembered him as “Uncle Tony” or “Sweet Tone” and he will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation: Monday, June 3, 2024 at St. Procopius Church 1220 West 18th Street (Corner of 18th Street and Allport) Parking on 16th and Racine Avenue. 4:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Additional parking will be available at Holy Trinity Church parking lot located at 1850 S. Throop Street. Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at St. Procopius Church, 1220 West 18th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60608 Tony will be lying in state from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Celebration of Life Mass to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, 87th & Hamlin in Evergreen Park, IL.

So sorry and my deepest condolences 🙏 to the Santiago family , I had the privilege to be Tony’s physician for over 30 years , he was a good and heart warming man he loved life and he played the part well fairwell my friend till we meet again and my God keep you in the palm of his hand.
