Veronica Mata

Veronica Mata transitioned to her eternal life on August 11, 2022 at the age of 61, surrounded by her loving family in Chicago, Illinois. Veronica was born on October 22, 1960 in Santa Maria de los Angeles, Jalisco. She was born to Maria Saucedo and Gonzalo Mata. She is the third of four children: Gonzalo, Cuca, Vero, and Gustavo.

At the age of twelve she immigrated to Chicago with her family. They settled in the Pilsen neighborhood where they resided on twenty second street for most of her lifetime. She was loved by many members of the community. Before having children of her own, she helped raise her many nieces and nephews. She met Raul and had three wonderful children, Karla, Jacky, and Karina. She was a loving homemaker who devoted her life to raising her children.

Veronica or as many knew her, Verito was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She made friends everywhere she went and she had the biggest heart. She had an infectious laugh and was full of life. She truly was the greatest mother and aunt.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends, going out to restaurants, playing card games, doing zumba, drinking tea, shopping, going to church, and spending time with her dogs, her faithful companions. Veronica was full of life and her positivity uplifted every person that she met. She touched countless hearts and was the epitome of happiness and joy. She was the greatest gift to many people and she will be truly missed. She leaves a great void in all of our lives but we cherish the memories that she left behind.
