Papa Oscar was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend.

Oscar V. Berducido, AKA Papa Oscar a long resident of Melrose Park, IL. departed peacefully at his home surrounded by members of his beloved family on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He was 93.

Papa Oscar is survived by his loving children: Maria Berducido, Olga Garcia, Eduardo Berducido, Mynor Berducido, and Claudia Berducido. Cherished grandfather of 13, great grandfather of 13 and great-great grandfather of 3. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Isidra Berducido.

Papa Oscar as many of those who knew him, always filled any room with music, laughter and memories. With his humor he always spread happiness around and he never failed to make us laugh with his wit. But most importantly, his faith guided the way he lived his life, his example of hard work, his dedication to his family and can-do attitude are values he engraved on each one of us who had the privilege of knowing him. His adventurous spirit inspired him to cross oceans, to climb steep hills, to cross long hanging bridges, and to visit remote places. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation: Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 West Roosevelt Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162. 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at St, John Vianney Catholic Church, 46 North Wolf Road, Northlake, Illinois 60164 at 9:30 a.m. for the Celebration of Life Mass .
