Micaela Ibarra, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, passed away peacefully in her home on June 9, 2024, in Chicago, IL, at the age of 94.

Micaela is survived by her devoted children: Octavia Ochoa, Esteban Tinoco, and Anita Salgado, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Micaela leaves behind a legacy of love and leadership. She was recognized for her dedicated volunteer service to St. Procopius Church in Pilsen, where she served faithfully for 39 years. Micaela was known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family, her parish, and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Micaela was not only the backbone of her family but also a pillar of strength for the community. Micaela cherished her family and friends, keeping them close to her heart and in her prayers. She will be fondly remembered as “Miquita” or “La Abuelita de Pilsen” and will forever remain in our hearts. Miquita lived a long fulfilling life. Her legacy will remain alive through everyone who loves her.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. Procopius Church, 1220 West 18 th Street, Chicago, IL 60608, from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services: Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Procopius Church, 1220 West 18 th Street, Chicago, IL 60608.(Due to summer school camp, Parking will be available at Holy Trinity Parking lot 1850 S. Throop Street) Celebration of Life Mass to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Harrison and Roosevelt Entrance, Hillside, IL. Arrangements entrusted to Concepción Rodriguez, Funeral Director & friend.
