Margery Michell, nee Marx, age 92, died April 5, 2011. Cherished wife of 58 years of the late Jerome N. Michell; loving mother of Mary (Dan Fisher) and Jan (Mitchell Freeman); adoring grandmother of Benjamin, Sarah, Jonathan and Dylan; also survived by a brother, Burt W. Marx, Jr. of Lake Forest. Born and bred in Hyde Park, she was a Chicagoan through and through. A published fiction writer, her short stories appeared in a number of literary magazines. A passionate reader, gardener and traveler, she had a particular love for the Southwest, spending many winters in Arizona. She was deeply involved in the North Suburban Self-Help Center, an organization that offered support services to newly arrived immigrants settling along the North Shore, as well as other local charitable causes. Above all, her greatest joy was caring for and being with her family. This lovely lady will be missed by many. Services will be private.
