John W. Dyar, age 80, passed away on June 15, 2022 in New Lenox, Illinois, surrounded by his family. He was born November 3, 1941, in Paris, Illinois to Lawrence and Ella Wanita Dyar (nee Owens).
John spent most of his life in the Joliet area and worked at Caterpillar in Channahon, Illinois, for more than 30 years. After retiring, he spent his days riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He was well known and loved by everyone in the area.
John is survived by his son Dane W. (Heather) Dyar of Joliet, IL, his daughter Valerie Dyar of Lockport, IL, his grandson Dane J. Dyar of Joliet, IL, his sister Milena (Bud) Maurer, and his former wife and friend, Lori Dyar of Lockport, IL, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his loyal canine companions Lexi and Rocky.
Per John’s wishes, in lieu of visitation and services, the family will host a Celebration of Life in his honor at a future date. Memorials can be made in John’s memory to the Will County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
