Christina Ambriz, age 68 went to be with Our Lord, Friday, June 24, 2022 at her residence in Chicago surrounded by her loving family.
Cherished mother of: Peter S. Ambriz, Lisa Ambriz, Anthony Ambriz, Christopher Torres, Fabian M. Torres, Michael Vincent Torres and Raquel Torres. Loving daughter of: Martha D. Ambriz
Beloved sister of: Sara, Martha, Rosie, Fabian, Sonia, Elvia and Alma. Treasured aunt, grandmother and great grandmother of many. Dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her brother John.
Our mom was a busy woman. As a single mother, she always enjoyed working while on the go. Was into movies & art, loved to cook, into music, watching the news, and reading her bible. Her favorite sports team was the Jordan era Chicago Bulls… The IncrediBulls! When younger, she enjoyed art and had skills in both drawing & painting. So much so, she perhaps instilled that desire within her younger brother John Ambriz (Uncle John), who turned out to become a pretty good artist himself. May he too rest in peace.
Her skill range began at such a young age, from having a painting hung at her elementary school (Peter Cooper), to sculpture design, as well as carpentry. As an electrician there was probably no skill set Christina Ambriz could not master.
There may be chance you noticed her or walked past her while going through the isles at some of her frequented Home Improvement Stores such as Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes. I’m sure some people probably thought she actually worked there. If not, then you may have seen her at a nursery, helping her mother to bring home items for her garden.
Our mother attended Peter Cooper Elementary, Washburne Trade School, Malcom X College and Chicago Women in Trades.
Her favorite Scriptures: Psalm 23 & 91. Childhood Crush: Paul McCartney.
