— Carolyn Ann Bass (Cox), 60, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
She was the wife of the late Daniel Bass and the daughter of William “Smiley” Cox and the late Pernia VanHook (Lovitt). She was employed at the Shell Oasis and loved her coworkers and customers. She enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble and spending her time with loved ones. Her infectious laugh and mischievous smile will be missed terribly. She was brave. She was unbreakable. She never gave up.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Jennifer Pollock (Stephen), David Barber (Christina), Laura Bianco (Benjamin) and Jeremy Bass (Danielle); grandchildren, Tyler (Kandise), Victoria, Hope (Alex), Ash, Mason, Alainna, Natalia and Kayleigh; great-grandchildren, Brently and Kaliana; her father William “Smiley” Cox; her sister, Donna Foster (Danny); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Bass; mother, Pernia VanHook; stepfather William “Red” VanHook; brother, Ronald Cox; and mother-in-law, Alice Bass.
