Bettina Lynn-Mulle

Bettina (Tina) V. Lynn-Mulle, 82, of Aurora, IL, passed away after a lengthy illness on March 25, 2022, at Tabor Hills Bohemian Home.

Tina was born in Islip, NY in 1939 and moved multiple times during her life. Wherever she lived, she collected friends that she treasured along the way. Her favorite memories were learning to ski and ice skate in North Conway, NH; sailing and hanging out with friends in Islip, NY; taking her children on road trips to go sailing or camping when she lived in Milpitas, CA; becoming a foster parent and a Certified Nursing Assistant in Kennebunk, ME; establishing an organic farm and hosting Fresh Air kids in Sanford, ME; flying kites, in Patchogue, NY;  joining protests or drumming circles on the beach and attending the Blues & Barbecue festival in Homosassa, FL; finding solace during her battles with cancer by watching the animals that live near the Fox River, at Plum Landing Retirement Community in Aurora, IL.

Tina was especially fond of her farming years in Sanford, Maine. She taught herself organic gardening, learned how to spin yarn, and raised angora rabbits, chickens, geese, goats, and ponies. Tina also enjoyed volunteering at the MOFGA Common Ground Fair each year.

Tina decided to become a nurse when physical issues made it difficult to tend to the farm. At 51 years-old, she earned her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. She then challenged herself to take the New York State boards and passed. She had a successful nursing career at Good Samaritan Nursing home in West Islip, eventually becoming a Charge Nurse before retiring.

Tina joined the Unitarian Universalist Church in 1958 and it became central to her life. Wherever she lived, she became a member and joined their social justice and environmental campaigns. She had the honor of being a board member of the Nature Coast UU where she saw the church grow from a tiny store front to a thriving community with a permeant home in Citrus Springs, FL. She was most recently a member of the DuPage UU congregation in Naperville, IL.

Tina is survived by her brothers, Mike Lynn, (Vienna, Austria) and Gerry Lynn, (Stonington, CT); her son, John, and his wife Kathleen Davidson (Sanford, ME); her daughter, Beth, and her husband Rick Milheron (Aurora, IL); her grandchildren, Meghan (Davidson) Duggan, Caitlyn (Milheron) Karl and Shannon Milheron; four great grandchildren; her nieces, Holly Lynn and Robin Lynn; and her foster daughters, Nona Stevens and Crystal St. Jean.

Preceded in death were her parents, Alan Grayson Lynn, and Elizabeth Adele Lynn (nee Helgeson); her brother, Alfred Grayson Lynn; her first husband, John P. Davidson; her second husband Lester H. Mulle; her son, Karl Grayson Davidson; her grandchildren, Sebastian K. Davidson, and Gillian N. Milheron.

Tina requested that we celebrate her life at the DuPage UU Church on her birthday in June. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ or to Smile Train www.smiletrain.org
