Bernard “Berny” Jayne, 69, of Naperville, IL, passed away on August 26, 2023 surrounded by his devoted family and loved ones. Berny was a kind and generous man with a heart that shined as bright as the sun. He lived a simple and cherished life and was loved by so many. He is survived by his children Kim (Dave), Josh (Dani) and Courtney (Omar), his siblings Marty (Sue), Greg (Linda), Peggy and Jerry, his grandchildren Addison, Jackson, Sean Patrick, Abraham and Irie, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents Marion and Martin, brothers Norman, Patrick, Billy and Terry, and many other beloved family and longtime friends.
Berny had a long career with UPS dedicating literal blood, sweat and tears for 35 years. He worked exceptionally hard to provide for his family and was highly regarded by his colleagues. In his free time, Berny loved playing golf and spending quality time with his grandkids. Those close to him will always remember his great love for music and cooking, and that tremendous accomplishment of hitting a hole in one!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday November 19, 2023 at the Batavia Overseas UFW Post at 645 S. River St., Batavia, IL 60510 from 11am to 3pm. Anyone interested in attending is welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bernard’s memory to a charitable organization of your choice.
