Aida Azmy

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we must announce the passing of the beloved Aida Azmy. Aida Azmy passed away on July 19, 2020 after a long battle suffering from several illnesses. She was 71 years old.

Although she was very sick, she never stopped fighting her illness. Despite the tremendous amount of pain she went through, until the last minute of her life, she always had a smile on her face, never seeking to worry those around her and thanking God despite her difficult and painful condition. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looked like. Aida lived her life for her family. She was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of her character. Throughout the beginning of her life, she constantly spent time with her son, raising him to become the man that he is today. The second half of her life she lived raising her grandchildren to see them flourishing. She always made family her priority. Before her departure, although she suffered greatly, she sought to thank everyone who had helped and prayed for her directly and indirectly throughout her journey.

Aida is survived by her son Meina, her daughter-in-law Heba, and her grandchildren Sara, Fady, and Jacob.

The funeral will be held July 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Holy Resurrection Church in Burr Ridge, IL followed by the burial in the Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
