Walter John Kurinsky, also known as Wally, passed away on January 9, 2024, in Downers Grove, IL at the age of 79. He was born on November 6, 1944 in Chicago, IL. Wally was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, known for his witty, dry sense of humor and his great poker face. He had a curious mind and a talent for fixing things. He was always willing to help his children and grandchildren with school work, household projects, and repairs.
Wally had a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer for many years before transitioning into sales later in life. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1962 and went on to attend the University of Illinois.
In his free time, Wally enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his garage. He loved watching football and spending quality time with his family, creating cherished memories. He was a dedicated husband to his wife, Sherry, and a proud father to his son, Scott (Krystal) and daughter, Jill (Jason). Wally was also a doting grandfather to his grandson, Jake, and granddaughter, Kate. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Anna Kurinsky. He is survived by his sister Nancy Palla.
