Evelia Fernandez, age 62 entered into eternal life Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at her residence in Chicago, Illinois.
Evelia loved spending time with her family, Evelia loved cooking and preparing meals for her family if it was just for meal time or for family gatherings and special occasions & holidays, she loved taking care of her garden. Evelia’s favorite pass time was needle point and crocheting, Evelia ‘s husband would reward her hard work of cooking with a Modelo Beer.
Evelia loved to travel Mexico to visit her father and enjoyed dancing at every fiesta. Evelia loved passing time with her sisters and loved talking on the phone with them. Evelia loved and enjoyed life she savored every moment. Evelia was so happy and full of love and joy. Evelia was a devout Catholic and had an enormous devotion to Our Blessed Virgen Our Lady of Guadalupe she always prayed every night before she went to sleep.
Evelia is survived by her dear husband of forty one years, Guadalupe Fernandez.
Cherished mother of: Alma Fernandez, Rosa Fernandez and the late Martin Fernandez. Loving grandmother of: Martin Julian Fernandez and Sergio Avon Rojas.
Dearest Sister of: Carmela Vargas, María Guadalupe, Vargas, Rosalía Vargas, María de los Angles Vargas, Luis Vargas and Gerardo Vargas.
Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews and a great friend to many. Evelia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation: Monday, November 15, 2021 at St Pius V. Church, 1901 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60608. Public Visitation from 2:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. (Parking lot on the Corner of Cullerton and Ashland Avenue also additional parking is available after 3;30 p.m. in the school Parking lot)
Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 2127 W. 22nd Place, Chicago, Illinois 60608. Family and friends will gather at St. Paul Church at 9:45 a.m. for Celebration of Life Mass to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Burial Woodlawn Memorial Park, 7750 West Cermak Rad, Forest Park, Illinois 60130.
