It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ninfa Alvarez, affectionately known to many as La señora Ana de Casa Aztlan. A spirited and resilient soul, Ninfa left us at the age of 81 on March 5, 2024, in Pilsen, her home since 1965. Leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and passion. She was not just a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother but a pillar of the community and a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on July 26, 1942, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, to Pedro Ulloa and Amalia Triana
Beloved mother of Myrna Alvarez, Alfonso (Al) Alvarez, Maria (Cindy) Alvarez, Marco Alvarez, and Veronica (Ruby) Maldonado; her grandchildren, Phillip Flores, Marco Alvarez, Nicole Maldonado, and Josue Maldnado; and her great-grandchildren, Camila Maldonado, Tala Flores, and Chloe Maldonado. Each family member reflects Ninfa’s strength, passion, and commitment to making the world a better place.
A memorial service to celebrate Ninfa’s life and contributions will be held on March 16, 2024, at St. Procopius Catholic Church, corner of 18th Street & Allport Ave. Visitation begins at 11:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 2 pm. We invite all whose lives were touched by Ninfa to join us in honoring her memory and the profound impact she had on our community and beyond.
As we gather to bid farewell to the matriarch of our family, we are reminded of the incredible journey of a brave young girl from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, who touched the lives of hundreds with nothing but courage in her heart and the determination to make a better life for her family. Ninfa’s legacy is an example of hope and strength, reminding us all of the power of resilience and the profound impact one person can have on the world.

I will always remember her as Ana and she was like a mother to me. She cooked this amazing dishes and always would invite me over. I was her neighbor and we spent a lot of evening together with her and her daughters, Myrna, Cindy and Ruby. They celebrated her birthday every year in July and I often helped them decorate and partake in the festivities.
Ana was a joy to be around and her laughter her joy for living was conragious. She made everyone welcomed and she loved dancing and entertaining
My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Prayers & our sincere condolences to entire family of Senora Ninfa , I knew her as Anna, she was a longtime friend of my dad, the late Antonio Bearcat Morales, who became unconditionally passionate about helping the Pilsen community & all in need through Casa Aztlan as well as their personal services to all and any that asked for help. She was kind, sweet, and to the point, and yes her smile is unforgettable. May she rest peacefully.
